The Weekend.....

I have to say I had an absolute blast this weekend visiting the sorority house with several friends and making new friends with some younger sisters!  I also have to say the house looks absolutely amazing!!!  There were tons of collegiates around this weekend and they were in awe of how amazing the house appears, it felt all worth to see their excitement!  There is still finishing work to be done but we are about there!!  I am very excited!!  Will give more on the weekend later, I have to say I am exhausted, it was too much up late, and then getting up early!

I might have the most wonderful, thoughtful husband ever!!!  I am having a very busy, very stressful week so on Sunday night Rich and Jolie had to run to the store real quick for a couple of things I forgot when they returned Jolie came running in the front door screaming "look Mommy, look, beautiful flowers, they are for you, smell them, they smell good".  What a sweet thought, here is a picture, they are very colorful, Rich says Jolie picked them out, I love them!!!

Good Mommy.....

So last week on Thursday at Jolie's school was hat day, well with everything else I have going on I forgot. We got to school and all the other children had on hats and not mine, I told her Mommy forgot and it was okay but she wasn't having it. She was crying they sent her back to the playground but I could hear her crying and it was heart breaking!! So I went to leave and started crying, then like any good working Mom I said work can wait another few minutes and I drove to my parent's house, which is closer to her school than my house got her a hat and took it back to school, good thing I did as she was in the front office crying, talk about making a Mommy feel guilty, this was it. Although, let me tell you all these little special days at the school while cute are a working Mom's nightmare, it just adds more things to do and remember and while fun for my child not fun for Mommy but for the love of my child I keep going

Well, I am proud to announce that today is Pirate Day and Jolie is decked out and ready, we even took the picture below this morning before going to school. I have accomplished good Mommy-ness today, thank goodness!! Okay so maybe it isn't the best picture since I took it on my Blackberry but at least I took one and remembered to dress her up, baby steps!!

What I have been doing all summer.....

So I figured I should show a little bit of what I have spent the entire summer doing.  I am the newly appointed President of the new Local House Corporation for the Alpha Nu Chapter of Phi Mu.  To simplify what that means I am responsible for the physical house part of my college sorority, I am responsible for the employees, the meals for the girls, and of course making the house beautiful!  Next weekend is Camp Alpha Nu, where Alpha Nu Alums come back to the house and help with little projects around the house and stuff for recruitment for the girls.  So in honor of Camp I figured I would show a few preview pictures of all that has gone on over the summer.  So here it is.....hope everyone loves it as much as I do.  I have to say it has been a lot of work and at times quite stressful but as the renovations come to an end I have to say it has all been work it!!!

These are the New front doors.

The new outside paint color outside, plus we painted the letters on the outside to get away from the dated gold color they use to be.  I really love the color, it is a creamier pink and just perfect, our interior designer is AWESOME!!

The new foyer columns in the foyer.  As well as a look at the new paint colors inside, they are so wonderful and welcoming!

This is the foyer, keep in mind in here on the right will be a HUGE mirror, in a GREAT Phi Mu Shape and then on the left will be the composite picture and newly covered chairs.  Also this was taken before the front door picture but it adds so much to this space.

These are what use to be super 80's style dinning room chairs that are now actually really pretty!!  Over the Fall Semester we are going to have slip covers made for them too out of the same patterned material, they will truly be awesome once completely finished!

And this is probably my favorite part, new wallpaper in the dining room.  This picture was taken before the top paint was finished but trust me it is AWESOME!!

And finally, the reason I do all this, so this little girl stands on the Phi Mu lawn in 15 years and takes her bid day picture, I can't wait for that moment, I will be the happiest Phi Mu Mom EVER!

Sleepless Nights

When I was pregnant with Jolie I had trouble sleeping from about 3 months on, I would either not be able to fall asleep or would wake up in the middle of the night to pee and then not be able to go back to sleep, it was horrible and drove me crazy but at least I didn't have another child to run after and there was time for napping and what not.  Well I hate to say it and I was wondering if it would happen and crossing my fingers it wouldn't but I think the sleepless nights have begun.  When we were on vacation the night before we left I was up in the middle of the night for hours, I had tossed it up to being nervous and thinking of all the things I had to finish up in the morning but it happened again last night.  I woke up about 1:30 am to go to the bathroom, which I do ALOT (I tend to have babies that flip head first early and then they lay on my bladder, I just know that is going to cause a major issue for me later in life, guess I will be able to blame adult diapers on my kids so they will have to change them), just kidding!!!  Well after waking I laid there, I watched TV, I tossed, I turned, I didn't go back to sleep until after 5 am, so needless to say I am totally exhausted!  The only good news is Rich is off of work today, no summer workshops for him today or tomorrow, so he very kindly got up with Jolie, got her breakfast, got her dressed, and took her to school so I could get a little extra sleep, I totally love and appreciate my husband, he is so thoughtful to me and our kids!

16 Week Appointment

Today was my 16 week appointment.  Everything is going well, we discussed the results of my Nuchal Scan from last month, which were really good.  The doctor checked my now totally jacked up C-Section scar, it is herniated and causing quite strange and aggravating pain but there is nothing they can do to fix it until delivery so for now I am dealing with it.  And then we listening to the heart beat which was about 160 bpm, so everything is good.  I scheduled my 20 week ultrasound for August 6th (I am so pumped about finding out the gender of Baby Perillo II).  I have only gained about 6 pounds since I got pregnant which is so much better than I did with Jolie so that is exciting.  I am starting to feel what I like to call the wave, which is the first movements of Baby Perillo II, so that has been great!  Other than that things are good.  We also talked about potential delivery days and it is looking like we will be going with Friday, December 17th, about a week ahead of the estimated due date.

Jolie went back to school today...she was so excited to be going to see her friends, she was cute this morning in the car talking about all of them and when we got to school she was ready to go, she ran in so happy, I loved it!!!

Home Sweet Home

So we spent yesterday unpacking and lounging around, it was really nice to be on vacation but I have to admit it is really nice to be home.  I feel relaxed and rested and totally unstressed, however, returning to work tomorrow I am sure will bring back all the stress but at least I felt no stress for a week.  Jolie is really excited to be going back to school tomorrow, she hasn't been in three weeks and she actually really loves school and is talking about her friends and seeing her teacher, they are getting their little garden ready for fall so she is pretty pumped about that.  Rich and I also return to work tomorrow and I have to say I have a new determination to hit numbers at work so I am excited to see if I can crush it this month at work.  Well, since today is my last day of vacation let's not think about work quite yet!

Today I have some cleaning to do and a trip to the grocery store and then I have to pack Jolie's school bag and get us all ready for the week ahead.  I am also embarking on my preparation for Baby Perillo II with some big house projects, will keep everyone posted as those things get done but in a nutshell I have things to do in pretty much every room of our small house to try to make room for another person to live here.  Rich and I have decided to do one little project at a time.  Today I am starting with a clean up and out of our Master Bathroom, I will be getting rid of old makeup and styling products that are taking over all our drawers and cabinets, I will be reorganizing all the styling products in the shower and then finally reorganizing all the linens in the linen cabinet in Master Bathroom.  And then it will be Rich's turn for his one project which is to recaulk the bottom of the shower.  I figured we would start with a some what small room and a relatively small project.  And if I am calling this small that means I am in for a lot of projects between now and December when Baby Perillo II arrives.  I do know on my next vacation from work I will be staying home and working on projects and that is when I have hired a painter for to paint all the down stairs of the house, the stairwell, the upstairs hallway and the two kid's rooms, that will make me have to do a lot of projects so that is cool.  Plus the best part is my parents gave Rich and I the painters for our Anniversary and we are finally going to cash in on it, so happy!!

Oh, and about the promised post vacation post, it is going to be delayed as we left the card with all the pictures on it in NC at Mom and Dad's, they are sending it so we will post soon!!

Quick Vacay Update

We are having an amazing time in North Carolina visiting my parents, it has truly been so fun and most importantly relaxing.  Our Blackberry's only work when we go "into town" and we only have dial up Internet, it has been so peaceful I have to admit.  We have taken some great pictures so I will put together a BIG post once we get back.  Hope everyone had a Happy Forth of July!!!
