So as a part of my last day of maternity leave I took Avery for her 2 month doctor's appointment. Dr. Anton says that she looks great, she is a big girl, and he assured me the colic will subside (it is getting better but we still do nightly screaming). He says her tear duct that was clogged looks much better and to just keep massaging it daily. For the colic he says continue with the probiotics and know we are doing the right thing. She got two shots and the oral roto virus vaccine, we follow the recommendations of the Americian Association of Pediatrics so we don't space our shots.
Here are her measurements:
Weight: 13lbs. 2oz., 96th percentile
Height: 24 inches, 96th percentile
Head Circumference: 15.75 inches, 83rd percentile
On the 17th I will write her 2 month post....

Avery's 1 Month Doctor Visit
This morning I took Avery to see Dr. Anton for her 1 month visit...below are the results of her visit as well as a picture from our visit. I will say that I knew she ate well and was getting big but I didn't expect her to weight as much as she does. I e-mailed Rich with Avery's stats from the visit and all I could say was "wow, we grow BIG kids!!". Jolie was also a baby/child that appeared in the 90th plus percentile, in fact she still does, I think it is because Rich is so tall because Lord knows these girls aren't getting their height from their Mama!!
Height: 22.5 inches, 91st Percentile
Weight: 10lbs., 15oz, 91st Percentile
Head Circumference:15.55 inches, 93rd Percentile
Dr. Anton says that Avery is PERFECT, although I already knew that..ha ha!! She is growing and doing well, meeting all milestones, and is proportionate, all the things that are important at one month. We are going to start giving her a Vitamin D drop to supplement the breast feeding since vitamin D doesn't transfer in breast milk. She got her second Hepatitis Vaccine and is currently sleeping, all is well in The Perillo House!!

Update on illness...
So for the first time since I got it I am using my I-pad to update my blog. I have to say spending half of Christmas sick as a dog was totally uncool! I took the medication the OB called in last night about 9 pm, my mom came over to our house to help Rich get the kids settled in for bed and pick up my Meds and a few things at the drugstore. I ate half a bowl of beef broth that Rich made me, drank some fluids and by 9:30 pm the meds kicked in and I was out for the count! The OB said I could continue to breastfeed despite the meds and bowel issues so I told Rich just wake me up and I will feed, well I was so out of it he didn't think it was a good idea for me to even hold Avery so he used breast milk I had in the fridge and I just pumped. Of course Avery had her only fussy night in her life the night her Daddy had to watch her. Needless to say this wasn't how I envisioned our first family of four Christmas, good thing we have many more to go!
I am feeling a little better today but I haven't moved much, I am currently laid out on the sofa. My Mom was over earlier to play with Jolie, that was great as both Rich and I got a little rest!I sure hope I feel completely better soon!

Merry Christmas
I hope that everyone is having a Merry Christmas, we are playing it very low key at The Perillo House as I wasn't sure how Avery and I would be feeling a week after delivery. So Christmas Eve we are hung out and my Mother In Law came to our house to make a nice Christmas Dinner, all I did was open up my kitchen to her and set out the china and silver for the table, I have to say it is a GREAT feeling to be able to just sit back and relax. We had Christmas breakfast over here this morning with my MIL and my parents and we just bought muffins and bagels and made some coffee. Jolie had an amazing time opening gifts, I promise to have a whole post about Santa and gifts later. The bad news is that after breakfast I began to feel really sick, I think I have totally over done it, I have now spent the rest of the afternoon throwing up, totally uncool. In fact as I sit here writing this post my husband and kids are at my parent's house opening gifts and eating Christmas Dinner. I just got off the phone with my OB as I have had enough of this and he went ahead and called in an anti-nausea medicine for me and I am just going to continue to lay in bed and try to get some sleep, not exactly how I wanted to spend Christmas Night. Below are a few quick pictures I took yesterday of the kids. I promise to have more post about Christmas when I am better. I will say though that I have a truly amazing husband that got me the second best Christmas gift EVER, of course Avery was our greatest gift ever but material wise his gift this year was way up there....he got me an I-Pad, it is AMAZING and I have barely got to play with it because I have been sick. :( Wishing you and yours a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and that you aren't sick in bed like me.

30 Week Update
So 30 weeks of pregnancy has been quite interesting. I spent the first three mornings of this week at the OB's office and even worked from home on Tuesday. The good news is Baby Avery is doing well and growing so big! To summarize what is going on I spent last weekend in Gainesville for the First Annual Alpha Nu Hall of Fame Induction which I have to say was a great time, we placed our first class of outstanding Alumnae women into the Hall of Fame for all that they have contributed to our sorority chapter, I have to say that each women is truly an inspiration plus it was a great chance to show off the beautiful new chapter house, I have to say everyone loved it!! But I digress, on to the 30 week update. So over the weekend Avery quit moving around as much, I would lay down and have to find her which is unusual, normally she is constantly moving. So when I say the doctor on Monday for my normal appointment I mention this. He goes to listen to her heart beat and can't find it, looks and looks and finally finds it but it sounds faint. So he decides to do a quick Non-Stress Test, we do that and have to give baby Avery sugar drink to get her moving but she does, and has just one of the heart accelerations that they wanted to see, they wanted two. So they want me to come back on Tuesday just to check, oh I forgot to mention I was having off and on period like cramps. So I go in Tuesday, they do an exam to check for dilation, I am not dilated but they decide to do an ultrasound on Wednesday morning and also discover I have an infection in my uterus so I am on antibiotic for that. Wednesday I go in and we do ultrasound, Avery is beautiful, did a 3-D and let me just tell you she looks just like Jolie, it is almost scary. But they discover she is laying right on my cervix and thus when she moves my cervix shorts and the top opens slightly. Thus she is the reason that I am getting cramping and hinting at the fact that she might not last another 8 weeks and 2 days. So the good news is she weights over 4 lbs. and is in there practicing breathing and for now all is good. We will be going to the doctor every week just to watch her but I will be in full swing of getting her room ready because right now it is not.
I am feeling good now and have a lot going on with work and family so the plan is to just get through the next 8 weeks and see what is going on day by day.
In other news Jolie is doing GREAT, she has been a true joy this week. She has come home from school everyday very happy and we have even gotten a chance to hang out as a family this week. I took her outside 2 evenings this week for her to color with chalk on the driveway, she loves that. She also has decided on her own that she is too old and too big for night time pull ups so for the past two nights we have done no pull up and there has been no accidents, she is so proud of herself and I have so say Rich and I are very proud as well, it will be nice to only be buying one size of diaper for Baby Avery and nothing for Jolie. She has also found a new obsession in maps...last night she even drew one on a piece of paper, folded it, like a real map and then slept with it all night and woke up talking about it, it was cute. She is really doing great and growing so big!!

An absolutely CRAZY week....
So much like the weeks previous it has been crazy, although I think this one takes the cake. Work as usual was busy Monday through Thursday were just filled with the normal craziness of work, appointments and proposals, orders with missing items, events, all the norm. I have been extremely tired and getting easily winded but was just blaming everything on it being hot and the fact that I am entering my third trimester of pregnancy. Wednesday, I stop by my nurse friend Lori's house, she takes my blood pressure because I am not feeling 100%, my bp is 168/94, high for sure but the only high BP of my pregnancy. I call the doctor they tell me to watch it, which I do, it is fine. I have my parent's bring their blood pressure cuff because we don't have one, theirs is a little machine, it also takes your pulse that the same time, I do it once while they are still here, my pulse is like 97, Dad makes comment about that being high, I ignore. Friday comes, I go into my office as normal for Friday, I see several of my co-workers who are now convinced that there is no way I am holding this baby in until December, I see the HR Director and she tells me let's go ahead and get all your paper work filled out, just in case. I go to a few meetings, one of my co-workers looks at me and ask, "what happened to your eye?" Confused I say I don't know, I then go to the bathroom to look at it, oh there it is busted blood vessels in my right eye with a pool of blood in my eye, it grosses me out just thinking about it. I have this odd feeling in my chest of my heart pounding, one of my admins convinces me to call the doctors office, I do, they have an appointment in an hour for me. I go there, they take my BP, it is fine, they take my pulse it is 120...they are concerned, they listen to my heart and count the beats, 120. Confused they consult, they think it might be thyroid, that would cause a racing heart. They draw blood, then send me home for bed rest for the weekend. The bad part is Rich and I were supposed to be in Gainesville at the sorority house as the fill in house parents not to mention we have tickets to the football game on Saturday. So much to my disappointment there is no Gainesville trip, no football game, no sorority stuff, nothing this weekend but a few crafts and the couch, I am not excited about that at all. So until Monday, I am just waiting to figure out what is wrong and what they are doing about it. Let's hope this isn't the beginning of pre-eclymsia which is what I had with Jolie only I was 34 weeks when I got it with her not 27 like I am now. Will keep you posted!

Catch up time....
So it is time for me to post about the last week since I finally have time to do so....it sure has been busy in The Perillo House, here is what we have been up to:
Sunday (a week ago)- It was supposed to be a day of pure relaxation, after the arrival of the new furniture the day before and the following day being Rich's Birthday we were looking forward to a little down time, time to just watch TV and take naps and pretty much do nothing. So that is how the morning started, it was quite, we went to the grocery store it was awesome. Jolie and I went upstairs to take a nap in Mommy and Daddy's new big bed. As we slept I heard a loud noise, didn't think too much about it and drift back to sleep, about 30 minutes later Rich came up to check on us, he noticed I was awake and told me to come downstairs he needed to show me something, I go not understanding what was going on. He says I washed my hands in the bathroom sink and it fell, what? Well he was right, we had a pedestal sink in that downstairs bathroom and it completely fell off the wall, on the floor, cracking the bottom pedestal. I of course call Dad for his emergency repair services, he comes right over to discover the sink was never properly installed, great. Well in order to solve the problem and have a sink in our bathroom I go with Dad to Home Depot to pick out another one, well we decided not to go with the pedestal and just get a small vanity and sink, well luck was some what on our side when Home Depot was having a big sale on vanities and sinks so we picked a new one and Dad installed in on Monday.
Monday....Happy Birthday wonderful Husband!! That's right Rich turned 32 on Monday and for his birthday he got new furniture and a new sink, no just kidding, he actually got from me and Jolie a golf trip that he is going on next weekend, he is really excited. We had a great day!!! Jolie and Rich hit the pool while Dad put in the new sink and my Mom and I put all of our clothes in the new dressers, it is awesome to have plenty of room. We did some takeout dinner from Olive Garden, it is Rich's favorite and then had cake that I made on Sunday night, it is this awesome cake and ice cream roll thing, Rich didn't seem impressed until he had some and now thinks it is the best thing he ever tasted. It was a really nice day and I am glad that Rich enjoyed his special day.
Tuesday....The CRAZY work week began....I had a work with to do and a wine dinner that night so I left the house about 8 am to take Jolie to school and got home at about 10 pm for the day, of course I was exhausted but Rich and Jolie did a great job of dinner, dishes, her bath, and to be bed so when I got home Rich drew me a bath and I got 30 minutes to relax, it was AWESOME!!!
Wednesday....Another CRAZY day at work with proposals to be built for big events and yet another dinner to go to. In the middle of the cachos it was time for the dreaded Glucose test, just thinking of the stuff you have to drink makes me ill, yuck!! I also had my regular OB appointment which went very well, everything is Avery is good, she is growing and kicking and doing well, we went ahead and scheduled Avery's c-section so that is all set for Friday, December 17th at 7:30 am, it is so strange to be able to plan out her arrival like this but I have to admit with the craziness of a three year old and a full time job it is awesome to be able to plan like this. I got the goodnews on Friday that I passed the 1 hour glucose test and didn't have to do the 3 hour test like I had to with Jolie, that was the best news of my crazy week!!! The dinner was fabulous but again a lot of work and another late night, this time I got home at about 11 pm. Again Rich and Jolie did a great job at keeping the house running and I was able to again get another much needed 30 minute bath into the schedule.
Thursday....My tiredness started to set in...I worked a full day but got home at a normal time, made dinner for the first time all week and enjoyed it with my family. I was here to put Jolie to bed with Rich which was amazing and then not long after Jolie went to bed I was in bed, I even fell asleep before the Jersery Shore even began, thank goodness for DVR, I love it!!!
Friday...Stressful meetings in the morning, running around after that for accounts and then home at a half way decent time!! The best part of my day, my parents volunteered to keep Jolie for the night, they picked her up from school and kept her until Saturday after the UF football game, it was amazing!! My wonderful husband made dinner for us, we watched the DVR'd Jersery Shore, I got yet another bath, and then a massage from my husband, what a great night, it has been so long since we have had a night like that.
Saturday...A quite morning to sleep in...it was lovely. Rich picked up a Micky D's breakfast we laid around I got to watch the UF vs. USF game without a crazy 3 year old, again amazing!! The UF game had my blood boiling in the first half but the second half calmed me. We spent the rest of the afternoon and evening watching the other college football games, boy do I love the fall and most of all football.
Today....We did a family grocery store run, Jolie was a little crazy and had difficultity listen so there was no sprinkle cookie in the bakery for her, she didn't seem too upset though, surprisingly. And then home to clean and get ready for NFL football, Rich had a friend over for the 1 o'clock games and I made a tradional Perillo Football lunch of nachos and then I went upstairs for a short nap to gain some energy for the late Redskins game tonight. Jolie is awaiting her first chance of the year to say "Touchdown Washington Redskins" she and Rich have been practicing a lot!! It has been a great weekend, I wish the weekend lasted longer and then it is off to another crazy week of work tomorrow!
Hope all of you had a GREAT weekend and got as much quite family time as we did!!!

Well Visit
This morning I took Jolie to the doctor for her 3 year old well check up, I know I am way behind but it isn't entirely my fault. Right after her 3rd birth day she had a couple of colds and then we were on vacation and then when I tried to schedule her appointment they were very full because of back to school so today it was. I have to say she did great, it started with her having a conversation with Dr. Anton about her new big girl room and her big bed, then she told him about her baby sister Avery, and then about her school, it was so cute, she is just so grown up, it is crazy. So I don't forget her stats here they are:
She weights 35 lbs and is in the 78th percentile, she is 38 inches tall and in the 68th percentile (this is the first time she wasn't in the 90 something percentile but Dr. Anton says that is fine and that she will still probably be very tall and should be hitting a growth spurt soon), and she is in the 79th percentile for BMI. She got one vaccine and did amazing, she didn't even cry at all and was excited about the band aid she got, it was cute! Here is her picture at the doctor's office.

The Results are in.....
This morning we had our very big, very important ultrasound. And the results are in, first the important stuff. Baby Perillo II is doing great, is lying breech but that is no biggie now and since we are having a c-section it isn't the end of the world. Baby Perillo II weights about 11 ounces and is right on target for growth, its heart looks good and sounds good and beats about 143 bpm which is in the normal range so everything went well.
Now for what I am sure everyone has been waiting for (I know I was awaiting this part) we also were able to find out the sex of Baby Perillo II, so here goes....
Jolie will be a Big Sister (that we all know) but she will be happy to know that she is going to have a Baby Sister. That's right, Baby Perillo II is a girl and now has her own name. Her name isn't going to be Baby Perillo II, it is.....

Update and Countdown
I will start with the countdown because it is more exciting than the update, we have exactly 1 day until our big 20 week ultrasound where we should find out the sex of Baby Perillo II. I have to say I am really excited about it. I just can't wait to know the sex of the baby, I feel like it is just so important. Even Rich says this is when it makes it so real for him, knowing what we are having and being able to call it by name. We have talked and talked about names and have for sure decided on a boy name but the girl name is still in a little bit of limbo so once we know the sex we will finalize the name selection and share it with the world. I have to say with Jolie I just knew she was a girl, well I may have even willed her to be a girl, I wanted a girl so badly it wasn't even funny, I would go on all the Chinese Birth Calender websites and everything and they all kept saying Boy and I would cry because I wanted a girl so badly, I know it is absurd but I blame it on the pregnancy hormones. But this time I just don't have a "feeling" like I did with Jolie and so much of the Old Wives Tales point to Boy but the Chinese Birth Calender says Girl so I am confused. I would like a boy only because Rich would love a son but at the same time we both love having a daughter so I really feel like either way we will be happy, we just want to get a healthy report tomorrow since this is the ultrasound when a lot of health issues can be discovered. So wishing for a healthy baby tomorrow and we will see from there about the sex.
Update on the cleaning goes as follows:
I didn't do anything yesterday!! I know I am bad but I just felt like relaxing and I figured since this is technically my vacation I would go ahead and relax. I promise today I will be getting back in gear. I am going to the dollar store and BJ's this morning with my Mom for some random items and then I will be back to cleaning upstairs. I have to say the downstairs looks GREAT!! My cousins are coming over this afternoon to see Jolie so that will give me even more time to get stuff done so that will be GREAT too. So hopefully tomorrow there will be more to update on!

16 Week Appointment
Today was my 16 week appointment. Everything is going well, we discussed the results of my Nuchal Scan from last month, which were really good. The doctor checked my now totally jacked up C-Section scar, it is herniated and causing quite strange and aggravating pain but there is nothing they can do to fix it until delivery so for now I am dealing with it. And then we listening to the heart beat which was about 160 bpm, so everything is good. I scheduled my 20 week ultrasound for August 6th (I am so pumped about finding out the gender of Baby Perillo II). I have only gained about 6 pounds since I got pregnant which is so much better than I did with Jolie so that is exciting. I am starting to feel what I like to call the wave, which is the first movements of Baby Perillo II, so that has been great! Other than that things are good. We also talked about potential delivery days and it is looking like we will be going with Friday, December 17th, about a week ahead of the estimated due date.
Jolie went back to school today...she was so excited to be going to see her friends, she was cute this morning in the car talking about all of them and when we got to school she was ready to go, she ran in so happy, I loved it!!!

Doctor's Appointment and Questions
So I forgot to mention that we are counting down the days to our first prenatal doctors appointment. It is Monday, April 26th at 10:30 am, we are going to the same OB practice that we went to with Jolie so I feel like I am an old pro at how that office works, there are several waiting rooms and you have to give a urine sample when you get there for each visit and there is a special way you mark your cup and there is just an order to everything and I actually feel like I know what to expect which is so different than with Jolie. When I went there for the first appointment with Jolie I felt like I was lost so I am really looking forward to knowing what is going on. Although the funny part is I feel as though I have so many more questions this time than I did with Jolie, you would think I remember everything and that I would be less nervous but that isn't the case.
So I thought I might share some of my questions now and then I will give the answers to them next week after I ask the Doctor on Monday.
- How far along am I really? My last period started March 1st but I know we didn't conceive until April 3rd (will tell that story another day).
- Will I be having a C-Section again for sure?
- Will we be having the amino again with this baby?
- And probably the scariest question....Are we having twins? I ask because I have had two dreams about twins and I feel like I am showing already and I didn't with Jolie....crazy I know but I have to know.
- What is the best way to help Jolie get use to the idea of being a Big Sister? I have read a lot about this but I want the OB and my Pediatrician to help with this.
So this is going to be a busy day on Monday because on top of the BIG doctor's appointment we also have Jolie's IEP Meeting with what is going to be her new speech therapist and we will receive her schedule for services and her start date with Child Find. I am actually really happy about this as she as well as Rich and I get so frustrated sometimes when we don't understand what she is saying and asking for. We have gotten pretty good at figuring it out but we aren't quite there yet, plus all this will make it so other people with understand her and we don't feel like we are constantly translating for her. I will keep everyone filled in after Monday.
Also Rich and I are working on when and how we are going to tell our parents that they have another Grandchild on the way. I just know my parents are going to be so excited about this baby because in February for Dad's birthday when I asked him what we wanted for this birthday he told be another grandchild so he will be thrilled with having another right around Christmas!
